I just had a fairly long telephone chat with one of my close buddy {which is also a very humble loyal reader of ginnables}. It’s a great feeling that we don’t really keep in touch like how people visit the churches once a week, yet we still have never-ending topics. I love you, Yan Leng.
This is just gonna be a quickie!
We talked about changes and people. And it just got my thoughts pondering about how a human being can be vulnerable without directions. It’s a pretty awful feeling to not have something to look forward tomorrow, or question marks all over the space in your mind when it comes to think ‘the future’. Don’t you get paranoid? I do ya know.
I always believe that “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”.
So, I’m really glad I’m raised this way that I have my own mild-OCD {Obsessive Compulsive Disorder} on how I want things to be. If its not for you Mum and Dad who sang to me when I was still an infant in mum’s womb, I wouldn’t be who I am today- constantly jotting down my {sometimes impossibru} plans. Well at least I do have a plan & I’m on my way to where I’d like to be.
& I realize how important it is to have direction in life, no body likes the feeling of being lost.
One of the best part of the year will be CNY! That’s because we get to catch up with people we have all been ‘too busy’ to keep in touch with, irresistible CNY goodies; ie. cookies & of course angpows, lotsa pictures and my personal favourite- the aura of the festive celebration. Of course, for people my age would probably be missing the CNY they had as a kid back then; so much laughters and friends, angpows and merrier (for some reason). Growing up, sniffs.
Nevertheless, this year’s Chinese New Year Celebration for me was nothing less than the warmth of coming back together. Like how Black Eye Pea sang “Tonight’s gonna be a good night”, my version will be “This year’s gonna be a good year!” Hee. :3

Just like how families have their reunion dinner the night before Chor Yat, we have our family reunion lunch. & we made a pact to have a family reunion lunch for the coming years despite wherever we may be. I’d like my dad’s Signature Pan Mee for next year! (:
What is a Chinese New Year celebration without….
..firecrackers!
{CNY 101: Firecracker’s loud noise is meant to scare away evil spirits & misfortunes while the redness of it is to symbolize prosperity and goodness to the home}
A little bit of us before heading over to Uncle’s house for reunion. On this first day of CNY, my uncle’s house is literally my ‘Kampung-for-the-day’ because it’s where everyone from the paternal side gathers for reunion each year. It’s always awkward because most of us only meet once a year, and my dad has like 11 other siblings; my siblings and I sometimes go cookoo on how to address everyone of them.
Had vegetarian Lou Sang, because we’re sucha biiiig family, we had two rounds over the same plate to accommodate everyone! lol.
{CNY 101: Lou Sang is also know as a Prosperity toast for it’s variety of ingredients with each carrying different meaning. It’s belief that the higher you toss, the better it is. For me it’s like a wishing well, as people toss, they make their wishes out loud}
Celebrated our 2nd day of CNY @ Fo Guang Shan, Jenjarum. It’s an annual thing for my family to pay visit to this particular temple every chinese new year.
Before I proceed, I must mention that we found a really awesome Dim Sum House nearby!
Restoran Tea House Jenjarum and they serve superduperyummy (no kidding!) dimsums at really (and i meant FOR REAL) affordable price you can find back here in KL/PJ. Oh, speaking about it now got me hungry. :S
Back to Fo Guang Shan Temple,
Every year, they held different theme with different attractions. And I guess this year it’s …
CALLIGRAPHY! It’s everywhere in the temple;
Calligraphy Exhibition
Calligraphy Hall where laymen(s) can try out calligraphy by the free (cheating)easy-calligraphy-tracing-sheet. It’s for noobies like myself who doesn’t do calligraphy.
However, if you’re a pro like my sis here you gotta take up the challenge to do this BIG SHEET of Sutras. I put my hats down for you man, it’s a great deal of effort! Kudos Sieney.
Our prideful masterpiece!
Awesome family day out, and that’s my ultimate attention seeking brother who calls me an attention seeker when he is obviously attention seeking. -.-
We ended Chor Ee watching ‘I Love Hong Kong 2012′ and it was utterly disappointing. For me it was sort of hollow and plot-less, it’s NOTHING like the ‘I Love Hong Kong 2011′ . Hm.
Spent my 3rd Day of CNY at Mike’s Crib. It got a little scary because many of his relatives came over as he was hosting a family gathering in the afternoon. But it was fun in the end for his siblings and cousins were all so cosy. Hee.
Baby EOS did entertained us really well! ;D
The mum cooked so much aweshum food! Smoked Salmon Homemade Yee Sang, Fat Choy and Turkey. Yummeh! Felt like I was in a Thanksgiving Feast! Haha. I was fed and fed and fed anddddd fed, oh so contented. (:
My long lost baby cousins came over in the night. Boy, they grew so much! Didn’t their smile just made you smile? Adorably contagious smiles! (:
And this is my favourite shot of Xiao Ming! This is specially for people who think their life sucks or will never get enough, even a kid can do a better job! You should too!
***
So that’s pretty much for my CNY. How was yours? Hope you all had a great one too! (:
& I’d just like to say: the first month of 2012 has passed. How fast is that? I hope we did a great job in January and don’t give up working our way towards le resolutions. (:
CNYC II Soon!
xx
#WARNING: Pokemon Language Ahead!

My boyfriend calls me a Munchlax, which eventually evolves into a Snorlax.
